Poison Spyder Bumper Opinions
I have been thinking about buying an aftermarket bumper for a variety of reasons. I was looking at Purejeep and then the Poison Spyder caught my eye.
It looks quality, is it? On the website it looks steel color, does it come in powder black? When are they coming out with a tire carrier/rear bumper combo?
Most importantly how do you like yours?
Thanks in advance for your input.

I do not have any personal experience with PSC bumpers but when I do my build in a few years, they are the ones that I will probably go with. I have read nothing but good things. Everyone says that the craftsmanship is awesome. As for the front bumper, which one are you talking about? The Brawler Lite is the bolt on one and the BFH is the one where you have to cut some stuff for the install. I have also read online that PSC will soon offer their bumpers powder coated (they are just waiting on quality shipping boxes so that the bumper's / armor's powder coat does not get damaged during shipping).
Oh and they just released a rear bumper and tire carrier

Thanks for the link. I am most likely looking at the Brawler Lite. It has space for my factory fogs which is nice. I am also not a hardcore off roader. This is a hunting rig, so I shouldn't need anything more. I will be researching more and more this winter. I still like the look of Purejeep, but these are really tempting as well.

I have the BFH front and rear and love them. Yeah, there was a bit of cutting on the frame to get them to go on, but that doesn't bother me all that much. As for the paint, powder coat would be nice, but I just hit them with a rattle can, and considering what they go though, it is nice to be able to rinse off the truck and spray over the scratches when I get off the trail. As for quality, I find that they are of very high quality. I couldn't ask for more.

I have a couple of Poison Spyder bumpers on my JK, a Brawler Lite on the front, and a Rock Brawler on the rear. I think the quality is really really good. On the front bumper they really paid good attention to detail. The stock fog lights attach right in place, and even re-use the oem hardware to attach them. There are holes in the back and top of the bumper for the plastic push pins that are on the oem wiring harness. The holes for the push pins are the right size, and in the right place, so all the wiring fits perfectly. The mouting bolts for the bumper are retained bolts, so there is no reaching up behind the bumper to hold the bolts while tightening the nuts. In other words, ... a super easy install. Same thing for the rear bumper, the bolts holes are in the right place and everything fits like it is supposed to.
They are shipped as bare steel bumpers. I had mine powder coated locally, it cost $75 per bumper and took one day to do.
As far as price, I think Poison Spyder is very reasonable. Some aftermarket bumpers for JKs are just ridiculously over priced ($1800 for AEV's fully optioned out bumper ). Poison Spyder's bumper, priced in the $300s, is so much more practical, will work better, and even looks better.

Rear BFH
I have the rear Built For Hammers bumper. Quality is beyond compare, very solid minimalist bumper. Also, I saw the Poison Spyder Crusher Flares on another customer's rig at Offroad Evo and those are next on my list. Probably the best looking fender out there for the JK and very well built.
