Poison Spyder Brawler Lite -- Fitment issues?
Hey guys!
Finally got around to installing my front Poison Spyder Brawler Lite with Skid. Showed up promptly from Northridge4x4, who were an absolute pleasure to work with
Got the ski mounted to the bumper, fogs installed, and trimmed the crash bar as described in the instructions. It's going onto a 2012 JKU with 6,000 miles. The bumper slides onto the frame rails, and everything APPEARS to line-up almost perfectly, but no amount of pushing, whacking, or hammering will make it budge. I tried slightly enlarging the holes on the frame rails with no success..
Running out of ideas here, any suggestions?

The reason I initially ordered the skid plate was because I was terrified of cutting off the crash bar. I felt it was a substantial part of our Jeeps' front end. Once I got the OEM bumper off, and started poking around, you realize that its only folded sheet metal, and really isn't that important once you introduce something as beefy as the Brawler Lite.
I first trimmed it, which took maybe 5 minutes with a 4 1/2 angle grinder with a cut-off blade. Once I started fitting the bumper + skid, I decided the whole process would be much easier if I just removed the whole crash bar entirely, and that's exactly what I did. Three cut-off wheels later, the bumper slid right on.

My buddy has the Brawler bumper on his 2013 and it looks awesome.
You just think for what you pay for these they would fit better. If you wanted to grind and pound and grind an pound you could have bought Smittybilt.

FINALLY got it on. Had to grind back the lower end of the frame-rail end, as crudely shown in my edited photo:

I had to take about 1/8th of an inch off of both side, and increase the size of the holes a bit. Hopefully this will help someone in the future.

the only time you're trimming is if you add the skid plate...
