If you look up the tires you're interested in, you will see the recommended rim width. Stock rims are 7.5" IIRC. I personally follow the manufacturer's guidelines but many run wide tires on narrow rims...in fact, it is referred to as a poor man's beadlock so you should be good as long as it's not too narrow.
