I know this is probably a regular post and hate to beat it to death. But I have looked and couldn't find an exact post like this so if it exists please direct me!

I have a 2010 JK Unlimited. It has the tow package so has the 3.73 gears. Can I put 33's on without a regear? Let me rephrase this...I know I CAN...but will I hate it? Will it lag and kill the MPG? With my FJ Cruiser I put on 33s and it didnt flinch. Just wondering how the 3.8 will handle them. THANKS!

4:10s or 4:56 would be better but it should turn them. 33's really arent that much bigger than stock.

Same gears auto with 35's and I am fine. You're overthinking it, I drive From Grand Junction to Denver over I-70 every month and I am fine. Sure new gears would be nice but can not justify it right now

I have a 2009 JKU with the 3.73, drove it with 34s for a year, no issues and now have 35s. Still, no issues. I live in a very flat part of the country, and do light to moderate wheeling with mostly mud and some trips to Rausch Creek.

I have no problems at all with it after Procal…. my last car was fast. This is not as fast, it's a Jeep. It is not as bad as some ppl would make it out to be.

Personal opinion. Unfortunately, no one can answer that but you.

But as noted above, it's only an inch bigger than the stock 32's many JK's come with. You should skip them and go straight to 35's!! Then press the OD Off button and you're running 5.38's.

(plug some numbers into the charts in the drivetrain section of the faq's. Use actual measured tire height, and when you want the OD Off rpm, just divide by .69 )

Ok. So in English........could I run 35s without a regear? Will my mileage drop tremendously or just enough to notice??

Would I need to regear to run 35s?
