No, rustoleum is actual paint and plasti-dip is a spray on rubber coating that can be peeled off with out any harsh chemicals

Do you have a lowes in your area? They carry plasti dip. At least in the Memphis area. If not you can order it online. If you want to take the undercoating off you can use mineral spirits. Depending on how thick it is you may have to lightly saturate it first. You can use a plastic putty knife to get it off. Should be good to go from there.

I plasti dipped my fenders then put rust oleum undercoating on top. They are a flat black now. I used the mineral spirits to clean up over spray on the paint areas. No problems.

I use Plasidip for applications that I might want to peel off later or that I need to be flexible. I use Rustolium Bed Liner for applications I need to be more durable and that I'm banking on being more permanent.

I Plastidip'ed my antenna for looks, but when I reinstalled it to the receiver, the Plastidip peeled away when I lightly used a wrench to tighten it down. I later removed the antenna and redid just the bottom with the Rustolium Bed Liner. I was able to screw it down tightly and the Bed Liner didn't peel away.

Hmmm really... I need some mineral spirits for some minor over spray.. but yea the side I did that's not that great is pretty thick, so you say, soak it in mineral spirits and scrape at it with a plastic putty knife, and try to reapply

I didn't tape any areas when I put the undercoating on. I used mineral spirits and a rag and it came right off. It takes a day or two for the undercoating to completely dry. I did some reading that you can soak it a little with the mineral spirits and "scrape" it off, if you want to remove it later. I used very little to remove it from the body panels. I also used bug and tar remover to get the light overspray areas off. That's what worked for me. Plasti dip is different. You can actually peel it off after it dries.
