I haven't personally used it, but I've seen it used and it actually looks pretty decent, and there are a couple of threads on this forum that show some applications, mostly wheels and grilles. The good thing is that you can peel it off without damage to the surface it was applied to.

My friend who has a liberty just plati dipped his hood (he wants a decal like the mountain edition for the liberty but they only make it for the renegade and arctic editions) so he just plasti dipped his hood to see what it would like. It actually came out pretty awesome EXCEPT the sides. As far as my personal experience with it, its pretty strong. I did my gas cap and jeep emblem to see if I would like the look of it before I spray painted. It was strong stuff - just make sure to use it when its not too humid outside. We plasti dipped my friends rims once and it came out like crap because the humidity was way to high, but if its around 70 degrees its perfect and should stick. I would use plasti dip on minor stuff, not on something you definitely know you want a black color - just use spray paint. Prep is everything.
Hope this helps
PS: there are plenty of youtube videos of people using this stuff showing the durability. Even on rims (at right temps of course) this stuff can hold up pretty well.

sorry no pics. I sprayed it on my old tacomas grill and door handles. It looked fine at first then it started to peel. I dont see the ability to peel it off as good but I guess it is to some.
