The problem with that is that 07-11 automatics should have come with 4.56s or 4.88s to match the engine rpm and performance of the 07-11 6 speeds.

The big advantage of the '12+s is less the engine and more the transmisson ratios. The transmission 5th/OD gear and 6th gear ratios are lower than 07-11 automatics and 6 speeds, requiring less differential gearing.

The 3.8L engine works fine if your differential gearing is low enough to run 2500-3000 rpm at 70 mph.

I completely agree but then if you want to match what the jeep would be stock with higher gears (numerically) you could just plug those gears into the (stock gearing you want to match) part of the formula

Anyone with an auto 09 X have any recommendations for running 35s on a daily driver, mostly highways, and a few wheeling trips a year?

Doesn't work or translate. We are not conducting tests in a vacuum.

What you say is the equivalent of the question, "Which falls faster? A feather or a brick?"

35" tire is more than just height/size. It is rolling resistance, wind resistance of the tire itself. Increased ride height creating more wind resistance of the Jeep itself.

Sent from some string and a few tin cans.

I run 4.88's in my 2012 w/ 5 spd auto, 37" trail grapplers. I tach about 2300-ish at 60mph in 5th gear. I'm pretty happy with that ratio.

Anyone have opinions on a 2010 3.8 manual with 37 inch Toyo MTs. Mostly daily driver with mix of city and highway driving at most 45 min trip. It has 3.73s right now I'm not sure how far I want to go to reestablish full power and good 70mph highway rates.

Do you guys like the 5.13? How is it on the highway? I commute about 80 miles a day and I'd say 60 mi is highway.
