2012 2dr auto
I have a 2012 Sport 2dr Auto with 3.73. Just got a 2.5 lift with 35x12.5 Toyos. Noticed big loss in power and MPG than stock. I plan on re gearing once I replenish some funds. I plan on on going to 4.56 after all I am reading (4.10 would be nice but if paying for gearing Id rather go higher). I am hoping I will re gain most of what I have lost. Is this wishful thinking? Worth the money?
Mostly doing street driving (mostly hwy). Any info is greatly appreciated !

Looking at the chart posted on here in the questions every newbie has thread... Is the tire size going by actual measured height or what's printed on the sidewall?

I'll chime in as well. I had a stock Sahara with 3.21s. Went to 4.88 after installing my lift and 35"s.
I'll say that first gear is quick. If at a stop light, you'll need to shift before your half way through the intersection. Second only a bit better. 3rd and 4th become your go to power gears.
For highway driving, you'll use 5th to get going and 6th for everything. I won't say what is better or worse, but that's my experience so far.
I haven't been wheeling yet but I'll bet that first gear in 4lo is going to be great!
As many have already said, there is no "perfect" scenario. It's all trade offs.

I'm running 35's on my 2012 JKU. With stock 3.21 gears.
Im happy with the performance currently. However when stepping up to 37s I would like to find some 4.10 rubi takeoffs

I would go with 5.13's. I have an 07, 2Door, Auto, on a 3.5 lift with 35's. Granted the 12's have more power, I would still go with 5.13. I had 4.10's and it was brutal. My MPG went from 14 to 17 and theres a noticeable difference in power. I bought the gears from Q-tec and with labor charges I ended up spending about 1500$

One suggestion (which I did not do) would be to drive your rig for a bit after the new tires and before the gearing. You could then use your own observations subjectively against the gauntlet of opinions that float around and make the decision that is best for you.
