Default Performance Disasadvanteges of 295/70/18?

Are their any performance disadvantages of running the stock 18's and a 295/70/18? I'm about to pull the trigger on some Nitto trail grapplers. I'm comfortable with the stock rims, but want to be sure I'm not setting myself up for issues.

I spend a good 6-8 days a month on the trails and the remainder on the street.

Thanks in advance!

If your spending that much time on trails. Consider a non aggressive mt tread like toyo MT's or nitto trail grapplers. Your going to spend 200 on a good set of wheel spacers so I would get some new wheels for 500 to 600 at DTD. That's where I got a good deal on my level 8's

Besides 18's being a little more expensive, not really. You will have a little less sidewall, but it will still be fine. Trail grapplers are great tires.

Whoops I thought he wrote Tera grapplers. Yes x2 trail grapplers are a good tire. You will be fine on 18's whatever you pick it's a good move. Less sidewall will limit sidewall flex. But it will be better on road taking fast corners since there will be less sidewall roll.

I actually have those exact tires (Nitto Trail Grappler 295/70/18) haha. Unfortunately, majority of my driving is commuting on the freeway and "city" driving, I'm only out in the dirt like 4 days out of the month. I must say though that tread is surprisingly pretty quiet on the road. Ride isn't rough at all and cornering is really easy too. The shorter sidewall isn't great because it doesn't provide much protection for the rim from rocks when crawling but doesn't bother me because I'm not crawling so much haha.

What gears are you running? And did you notice any power loss?
