Pavement Ends Sprint Top for 2dr
Wanted to eliminate the frail and passenger impaling bars associated with OE soft top. Kinda partial to "fast back" look. Like to frequently run no sides.
The answer was about $630 when I got the jk in 2012, then $550-ish or so shipped when I went through "jeepucation" on how to look for parts, and suddenly, Pavement Ends comes out with the $300 shipped after $50 rebate Sprint Top.
Looks, works, and snaps in exactly like the double priced Bestop (same company fyi)?
Either way, I installed the top myself, some persistence and anger required for clamping the new top to the reused OE header bar btw, and have loved it. I complemented mine w a Duster cover that is also a grand buy for when I just have the "bikini" top. This setup makes so little sound in all configurations, probably the quietest top I've rode in. Also that black diamond material is beautiful, light plays really well, and the tint on the soft yet thick windows matches lluma and dupont window tints perfectly.
Only complaints is that the (1) straps and their attachments need much more quality and creative placing than what the top could've easily designed, (2) without a spreader bar over the passenger compartment (forced to buy this asap), the closed top seems to flap violently whenever you open just a window more than a crack at speed, and (3) putting the whole thing back on, connecting the final zip of the back window and side seems like it needs a ratchet clamp to pull it together... Always a tough job even in 90* sun.
Pretty awesome thing overall, and somehow, a great value buy even for the tightest penny pincher: I've sold the stock soft top that came w it, obviously in perfect condition minus a few scratches dealing with using that crap, and actually made $450 (real money) with the switch!? And yeah, it does lots to change the jk, now is/looks lighter and more tactical.
