I did mine a year or two ago and there holding up great. Prep time is everything. Sanded the clearcoat off, which took forever, then did 2 or three light coats of primer. then did 2 or three coats of rustoleum hammered black. I'm not sure what grit of sandpaper or primer but if your curious just let me know. I can also be more specific on directions if you need or get you a better picture.

Just did mine this last Thursday with duplicolor spray on bedliner. It's a killer flat black wit a nice texture. There's plenty if good write ups in here to guide you. Don't be afraid.....do it right and you'll LOVE the results.

Heres a few threads with alot of good info if you wanna look through them

I sanded mine down with 180 Grit sand paper, Cleaned with Acetone, then used Rustoleum Black Metallic spray paint. (I used primer the first time and even after letting them sit for 48 hours, you could just peel the paint off with your fingernail) so i suggest not using primer. Its been almost a year since i've painted mine and they're still holding up great

I have chrome MotoMetal rims which are just garbage. They originally were on the Jeep when I bought it, but a factory tire was on as the spare. I bought another (brand new) MotoMetal rim about 6 months ago just to have a matching spare on the back, but now it is already showing pitting. Can't believe it... I just bought the darn thing 6 months ago, haven't even driven on it, but now it is pitting. I wonder if it's possible to just paint over the chrome provided I sand, prime yada yada...CHROME SUCKS!!
