Default Paint the whole rim or just the face

For those who have painted your factory rims black , did you paint the whole rim or just the face? Is there any need to paint the whole rim? Thanks.

I bedlined just the face. No need to bedline/paint the inside of the wheel IMO, no one sees it and its filthy anyway.

Started with my spare back around Thanksgiving to make sure it would turn out good and I liked the look. One thing led to another, and I just got back to finishing them up today and through the rest of this weekend. My GF is in Florida for 5 days, so I have a lot more free time to work on the JK without her getting pissed. So if you saw a red 2door running around Pittsburgh with the just spare bedlined, that was me!

I spent more time cleaning them than bed lining them but I did the inside and outside.

I've painted both stock and aftermarket wheels using high temp. flat black spray paint and I've never had a problem, but i've only done the outside. I've never had the need to do the insides cause no one has ever noticed. I agree the longest process of it all is the sanding/cleaning step to prep the wheels... painting them (4 light coat for me) is nothing. But the prepping process is crucial to getting a solid paint job.

just the face. The inside would be really hard to prep right and will chip away anyway. Oh and noone will pay attention to the inside of the wheel anyway

I painted just the face on the stock wheels I had for my old TJ. I would paint my jku rims but my wife specifically mentioned not doing that when I got it...lol.

just the inside, as said the inside will be full of brake pad dust plus grease = lot of time cleaning
