Did u cut hood in wrong spot , that would throw everything off? Just trying to help. They are all from the same mold it should fit the same and they just reverse engineeted the aev?

To the OP sorry to hear that..... I played around with that idea but went with the AEV gen 2 instead bought it last Saturday installed it Sunday my buddy also got one and installed same time. Easy install first one took 2 1/2 hrs we were being extra cautious lol next one just over an hour

nooooooo cutting was gonna be the last thing done lol . for whatever reason it just doesnt work . like i said i could mash down on it and use the fender screws to pull it down , but not gonna do it . google it and you will see many of the exact same problem . mine js a 2011

just put mine on today (AEV).. did anyone notice that the directions say 23mm or 3/4" for the distance to place the stencil from the hood latch indent? the two measurements are not equal! 23mm is almost .91mm? Everything else was rock solid and I'm loving it so far.. had to clean a bunch of mud from the bottom of my airbox but that made me realize i made the right investment.

chicom directions say 19 mm , didnthe aev drop right down ? airbox go down correct ? im ordering one monday when i can talk to a human and get free shipping . ordered a new airbox just now because i cracked mine gettin the junk snorkel back off , epoxyed the thing and its prob ok im just anal about stuff sometimes

it would be fun to live in a wet state, deep crossings, and use it,but i live in the high desert, not much over a foot of water to be found...

Sounds like u had bad luck or are too picky. I got mine and installed it this week. $150 is by far worth it.
