over tightening will just blow apart the plastic holding the mirror to the arm.
too tight at the arm to the door hinge will result in the ovaling of that hole and then there is no way to attach to the jeep.

I ended up selling mine and making my own for under $10 https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...irror-solution Yes you get some vibrations, but same as the $130 mirrors. For that price tag, they should have been way better built then the plastic that just wears after a few uses. The dietech mirror mounts look to pretty solid, you just have to find another set of mirrors or switch yours everytime.
Good info to know, putting them on I was alittle worried about ovaling happening when looking at them. I wrenched them down pretty good to prevent vibration, when I took them off it didn't leave a mark though. I will have to keep this in mind next time.

the nylon tip of the screw only last so long. if they constantly on and off keep an eye on the nylon make sure it is still there

Roger that. I will probably in time switch to a more permanent solution, maybe RR/Mopar replacement mirror brackets. Good looking out, Thanks again

I've been running those "make um yourself mirrors" for over 2 years now, so good and CHEAP!
