Default Opinions On Wheel Size

18's or 20's on 35's? Anyone care to share some pictures of their wheels and tires? I'm debating on what size wheels I want to put on my JKU.

I wouldn't want 20s on my jeep...tires are way more expensive/ harder to trade or get rid of them if you decide you don't like them and the ride isn't as smooth

how about a 16" or 17" wheel?

I have 18" wheel and find my selection is very limited...and expensive!

Default wheels

Mostly you want your rims to be about 1/2 the size of your tires . I wish I had 15" rims with my 35" tires . I like rock crawling and air down my tires , and sidewall flex is what I need . Most wheelers will laugh at 20 " rims and think you should just lower your jeep and put dingle berries around the windshield ! I run 18" rims only because my jeep came with aftermarket rims when I bought it . Generally the diff.in cost between a tire with an 18" hole and a 17 " hole for the rims is about 50 dollars more for the bigger rim size . I am cosidering just buying smaller rims next time I buy tires because by the time I buy 2 sets of tires , the new rims in a smaller size will pay for themselves. If you run 40" tires or bigger , you may consider 20 " rims . My other jeep has 15" rims and 38.5 inch tires . good luck !

I'd choose 17's pretty common size & cheaper than 18's or 20's

I also suggest 17" or less. Definitely 18's over 20's though.

I assume you don't plan to wheel much?

For function, 15's or 16's. For looks, 18's. I've got 15" wheels and 35's on mine. I also think 17's are a good compromise and have more tire options.

Agree. Had 18s but went down to 15s when I decided to move to 35s. Low profile tires are for going fast on turns in sports cars. If you never plan on going in dirt or rocks, than 20s for street will perform well with street rubber. If you go that route and take the rig out like it was made for, those rims will get damaged.

I think the 18's would look better on 35's i would get 20's untill you had 37's atleast

17" probably the best all around size for a 35. Roughly half the tire diameter. 18's would look good, but less choices and more expensive. I would definitely skip the 20's
