Default opinions on shocks

Looking to install a 3"lift and want opinions on shocks from personal experience. Fox Teraflex Bilstein. I remember Fox from being into snowmobiles and around mx bikes....are their jeep shocks just as good, worth the extra money? Thanks

i personally like the bilstein 5100 shocks a lot. for how well they perform, they are a really good value and, it is the reason why suspension companies like aev, full-traction and rubicon express all like to use them with their kits. the fox shocks are nice but, i don't know if i could say they're worth the extra cash. the TF shocks work well enough but i personally feel that the bilsteins are nicer. of course, ride quality is totally subjective and these are just my opinion based on my experiences.

Thanks wayoflife! Shock related, do I have to order different rear shocks with my lift if I want to use EVO rockstar brackets? Some say they used standard size with them some say they ordered 2" shorter than what came with the 3" lift? EVO just said to check them when installed but I don't want to have new shocks that are too long then try to send them back for shorter ones

yeah, if you're planning on installing rock stars, you should make sure that the shocks you get aren't going to be too long. otherwise, they will bottom out. more than likely, you will want to get shocks that are shorter.
