Which one's Silver or Argent Pintlers/w red jeep
#13
MDPJeep, you're welcome for the picture (courtesy of another forum).. Note that THAT picture was of a silver AEV Pintler BEADLOCK (I have argent non-beadlock style on my silver Rubi as I'm not (yet) hardcore offroad) and I heard you should check beadlock's ring torque routinely.
I think CJK made a good observation about scratches and such not showing as much w/silver probably. Here's a pict of AEV non-beadlock silver/ruby red on a 4-door (courtesy of same 'other' forum) - http://www.jeepfan.com/offroad/OKTF-07/IMG_0073.jpg
Don't know about AEV availability, but they are popular... I choose AEV because I really like the Pintler style and (AEV says they ) consider the OE bearing load...
I started with wanting 15" somethings because to me it makes the tires look bigger yet (I'm running 35x12.5 Toyos) and I personally like that 'old- school' "monster-truck" visual wheel-to-tire size ratio... but you do need to consider strength specs/issues more than visual and this I know little about.
I do know I could go to 37's safely if I dealt with everything else that goes with that change... which I will do someday as I decided 35 because 35x13.5 on 15" Toyos on our TJ looks/werks bitch'n... only thing is, the scale of JK to 35s isn't quite the same... to me, JKs w/37s look like our TJ with 35s scale-wise and we all know, even if not admitted out loud, that looks and function often compete head-to-head when putting out hard cash.
