one last thing
ok so heres to my first suspension mod. a front only 1.75 in coil spacer
im gonna get the 50.00 ones made by rubicon express
i have the jack that the jeep came with. and i can fashion some wheel stops out of various things
is it possible to install these with just these tools? can i just boost up one side on the frame and have someone pushdown on the axel till i can slip it in? i think it might b kinda thick 1 3/4 in.
or maybe 3 people pushing down on the axle im sure its kinda hard

Just disconnect the track bar and shock and you should be able to drop it down far enough to slide them in. (assuming you have a jack and a couple of jack stands for the job) if not definitely invest in at least a cheap set from wally world. youll be using them more than you think

Yea, i know the feeling. im scrapping up every penny right now to get some new stuff. good news is i think i got mine for around 40 bucks. or just ask some buddies. i just don't want you to end up with an axle hitting the ground. ive tried the method you were talking about and it can get a little scary without jack stands when the jeep starts moving around from pushing on the axle

Here is a write up of installing a 4inch lift. You will only need to follow the first couple of steps to get your axle to drop and slip in your spacers. There are pics and descriptions of what you need to do.
Make sure you get a functional jack and stands. Dont try to rig something up. Especially with the POS jack that came with the Jeep. Would hate to have the title of your next thread be "So I am laying here with my Jeep on top of me"

What you might do is throw up a post in the California Staging Area. There may be someone close to you that would be willing to help or at least lend some tools. Definitely go with stands and a real jack instead of that creaky little stock scissor jack
