Default OME w/35s info - from the source

In short, with the OME lift and 35s you want approximately 2 inches of bump stop extension.

Marc (technician for ARB-USA) gave me permission to post the following:

From a post by Chino78:

Jim asked me to address your questions.

The shocks are roughly 50mm longer than stock for additional
articulation and will work fine with sway bar disconnects. However, tire
clearance is limited with the sway bar disconnected to about 33 inches.
35 inch tall tires should only be fitted with a bump stop spacer kit (in
development, we should have them in the next few weeks), otherwise the
tires will contact the body work of the vehicle.

We are working on extended length JK shocks at the moment and they will
be available in the next few months. I don't have the specific lengths
handy, but they will be in the range of 18" closed and 28" long. They
are designed to work with 4-6 inch lifts. Keep in mind that if you go to
a shock longer than our standard JK shock you will need to at least
lengthen your brake lines and possibly the ABS wiring and other items as
they are a limiting factor for downtravel.

My email:
Marc,

I found the above post on jk-forum.com. I hope I am not out of line responding to you about it.
You mention that 35 inch tires should not be used on the OME lift kit without bump stop extensions. My question is, will 2" bump stop extenders from a Full Traction kit be advisable (I already have these)?

Thanks,
Greg Gradwohl

Marc's response:

No problem Greg, yes the Full Traction bump stops should be fine, we've been a little slow getting our bump stop kit to market, but it will be about 2 inches when all is said and done as well. The big thing is that 35's just don't fit into the rear fenders without a couple of inches of bump stop spacer and even then some slight rubbing at the extremes is likely unless trimming is done. It's the compromise required to keep the low center of gravity with the big tires, but I really think it's worth it.

Any thoughts or comments on a post from Rubimon in another thread? He postulated that the front springs are limiting travel in the front, and that the front bump stops are not the limiting factor in upward travel (paraphrase).

If that is the case then that would explain why some here are running 35s without the fender flare interference that has been shown in pictures here with rigs compressed to the factory stops (lift or not).
