OME HD 2" install... WTF
I must be missing something big time… I tried to follow the OME lift writeup (great work from wayoflif by the way http://project-jk.com/jeep-jk-write-...ation-write-up) , but ran into a “snag”.
I had to disconnect my front brake lines, diff breather tube, and locker wiring to get the axle to drop enough to fit these front HD springs on (the esp wiring was long enough once disconnected from the brake line). Nothing quick and easy for me on this install. The back end was smilar; didn’t need to disconnect the brakes lines - disconnecting the line mount was sufficient.
Not a bash on the lift. Just saying you might be there longer than suggested.
If I missed something on this installation, PLEASE speak up.
No info on performance yet. Still on the stands - Installing adjustable upper CAs tonight.

You disconnected the sway bar links, shocks, and trackbar, right? I also had to disconnect the abs and locker wires from the mounts, but that was it to get my 3" FT springs in place If you have an Auto , I think you have to disconnect the drive shaft too. My springs went pretty easily... I reused my Tera BB extended bumpstops too, but I had to install them once the springs were in. With just the stock bumps on they slide in fairly easily, the passenger side was tighter, but not bad. Im not sure what to tell you, Im just thinking out loud here, hoping something will pop out at you.

It took a little muscling (sp?) but we didnt have to disconnect anything other than per WOL's writeup on the front. Actaully we didn't even remove the front skid(auto).
The rear we pulled the wiring tabs for the EPS but didn't have to disconnect it or break lines.
It took longer than 2.5 hours some have reported, but we interrupted several times and made a trip to town for bigger jack stands Needed them anyway

Boy, the first lift I installed, I didn't disconnect the trackbars and But with the OME 2" (AT by the way) I had the skid off for other reasons and all I needed to do once the shocks, sway bar and trackbar were all disco'd was to take a floor jack on the opposite side and lift a little. The spring popped right out. I didn't need to even deal with the wiring or brake lines. I did use two jacks by the way and with one in the center of the axle (not on the front pumpkin) for a pivot point, it gave me all the articulation I needed.

I think in the official write up posted here stated to keep an eye out for problems like you mentioned,
I played it safe and did this..It seemed to give me that extra inch I needed to clear everything
Rear wire at frame..pulled out to give some slack
Slid the sensor wire from the other end for more slack..front
And loosed up the brake line mounts front and rear.
I have to say that these couple of little things didnt bother me. But the sway bar links gave me a hard time...Go figure
Great lift by the way!

We ran into the same thing this past weekend and we had to muscle the spring into place. We totally forgot about articulating the axle with the 2nd jack to give us the extra room. I just hope we didn't damage the spring any since it took one of us using a metal rod as a lever, another to compress the spring (as much as humanly possible) and a third to slap the spring in place and we had to make sure the spring lined up with where the stock one was set. You can see here that we didn't have a lot of space to work with and probably should have lifted the jeep a little higher.
All in all it took us about 7 hours but that was mainly because we had almost put the whole front axle back together without moving the swaybar back down to install the rear swaybar links and also one of us had to go buy some extra hardware.

If you were expecting the OME springs to "drop" in, that may be your problem. You will definitely need to force the springs over the lower spring mount, then they will pop in. As mentioned, helps alot to use 2 floor jacks, one on each end of the axle to use leverage to further droop your axle. I have installed 4 OME kits now, and that is by far the best advice I can give you during the install.
BTW, on my 1st JK, an "X", I didn't have to drop the cross member (for DL clearance) to install the lift, on the new Rubicon, I did; same lift. Who knows.
