old man emu standard vs. heavy
So I am fairly new to the forum, I have read many treads but cant seem to find how to decide if I would need a standard or heavy duty OME 2" suspension lift. I would like to roll on 33" x 11.50-12.50 tires, i own a 2 door 2012 Sahara and dont plan on doing any major off road usage, just trails and mainly commuting to work. What would the difference in lift height between the two. I hate to require additional modification status post the lift. I understand that if I go with too much lift it could incur problems with drive shaft clearance. I would appreciate any thoughts.

If youre not planning on replacing your front and rear bumper then get the standard kit, this will give you 3" or 2.5" of a lift i believe with no added weights. i got the 2" HD on my JKU that i installed 3 weeks ago and i think the coils havent settled yet so its still 3" once they settle itll be 2.5 with no added weights...

X2 on that. I already have a full steel rear bumper / carrier and thick light bar on top, and the HD is way too rough. I'm hoping my addition of a front bumper and winch this week will slack it up.
If you want to up-armor your jeep then go HD. Otherwise so not worth it

I have had the HD springs on my 07 and now my 2012. I have had the chance to ride in a jeep with standard springs and the ride is not that much different. I think the Hd springs ride similar to stock. You can always give Dave a call at Northridge4x4.

I have the HD setup on my '12 2-dr. I netted about 3.5" initially then added front bumper and winch and sagged about an inch so I added TF 1" spacers up front, rides great otherwise, with 35's; with no extra weight in back yet I have a slight rake but with gear or passengers it levels out just right.
With only 33's you may even consider just a BB or leveling kit.

LOL... My bad, I should have been a little clearer. I was offered a "gently used" standard duty for about $500 but opted to go with the HD at around $700.
