Default Oil Tank Skid recommendations

I recently bought an EVO oil pan skid and when it arrived one of the corners was bent and cracked in two places. The box didn't really look damaged either so now I was wondering about the strength of the EVO...I know when mounted the skid will have more strength distribution but now I'm second guessing myself about installing this skid. Now I'm thinking I should go with the RockHard oil pan transmission skid. What do you all think, looking for recommendations. Bought this skid for under 200 but now thinking instead of havering another EVO sent to me spend a little more cash. Any thoughts?

Mine showed up the same. I pounded it out vs dealing with a return/exchange. Unit seems solid enough to protect stock pan.

When ordering a skid I thought about buying the EVO, but went with Rock Hard because it doesn't bolt directly on top of the oil pan. I didn't like the idea of the bottom of the motor taking impact if I came down on something. I would send it back and get the Rock Hard skid.

Had the same thoughts as Anvil. Just not a fan of transferring that impact to the engine. Out here we take some hard hits from time to time.

If you are still in doubt... give Rock Hard's customer service guy Jason a call. Great product.

Waiting for Northridge response, sent pictures and was told that normally the vendor (EVO) would make an exchange. I do not want an exchange as not too confident in this skid. I told Northridge I would pay the extra cost for the Rickhard so I'm waiting to hear back from them. Shouldn't be a big deal as I have bought a ton of stuff from them. Good customer, happy customer!😋

The Rockhard is a very nice skid, but I went with the JCR and it fits great and takes a beating. I know a few folks with the EVO and no issues but i agree with everyone else on it mounting to the pan is a lil sketchy. But if you are a lil skeptical now without the skid being on how will you feel on the trail??

Installed the Rock Hard Skid this evening, very easy install however I had to go back and put a shim that is used on the crossover support in case the exhaust sits to low. I originally left the shim out, thought I had enough clearance but as soon as I took for a drive new I needed to go back and slide the shim plate in. Very nice skid and now I don't need to worry about my oil pan.

So the exhaust is touching the skid? thats wierd cause the skid sits bellow the crossover frame and the exhaust should be above the frame.... I did however cut the xfer case skid rolled lip (it is rolled to protect the mounting bolts from rocks) to make it more flushed with the RH skid plate. Maybe Im missing something though since I have a 2013 JKUR. Got any installed pics?

of the new skid installed im not understanding the shim thing but some pics would help

good luck I wouldnt have trusted a bent skid on arrival
If it cant take the ride over in a ups truck how strong is it ? The hole looked almost ovaled out, its prob just the angle of photo where it was bent.
