Mind if I ask what filter you switched to?

Just to pile on to the Mobil one filter bashing....I put one on my old YJ and it increased my oil pressure by 15psi (hot & cold). No other changes, same brand/weight of oil. I already had good oil pressure so I took it off and my pressure went back to "normal". I use Puralator PureOne filters now with Mobil One oil & have no complaints.

Same here guys. Mobile 1 oil filter and Mobile 1 0W-20 is what I was running. Engine made a knocking sound on startup kinda like when you crank the motor right after an oil change. I changed to fram extended guard and added a little more 0w-20 for what I lost and the noise went away. I wouldn't run a mobile 1 oil filter ever again. I'll probably go back to 5w-20 after 3,000 miles. I had that garbage on my truck for about half a day.

I run only Motorcraft, Mopar or Purolator filters. The high in Frams are good but the whored out their name at some point.

Well I changed my oil this weekend and went with a AC Delco PF53 filter and it was cold this morning when I left work and low and behold I still had the knock.... Time to swap it out for one that others have had success with.

I switched out the mobile1 filter for the motorcraft FL-400S and the knock is gone. My knock wasn't too bad, but I was worried about it anyway. Now, no more knock.

Great topic guys. I switched over to Mobile 1 5w30 and a Mobile 1 filter and have had the same clater on startup. I thought it was the 5w30 vs 5w20. I will pick up a Motorcraft FL-400s on the way home tonight.

Sounds like the Mopar or Motorcraft is a safe bet... I will be changing it within the next couple of days...

OK picked up the Motorcraft FL-400s filter and clater is gone! great advice. I also talked to the Autozone guy and he confirmed the same thing Modile 1 filters do not have the valve that retains the oil pressure for start up.

So the 3.99 filter is better than the 10.99 Modile 1

I switched to Mobile 1 and their filter a couple weeks ago and immediately noticed the clatter after the Jeep sits. This weekend I am going to buy a Mopar filter and replace the Mobile 1 filter and see what happens.
