Sometimes all you need is an added bump to tho the shaft at the righ spot while torque is on it and it will prezell a guy on a club trip did a similar thing to his rear shaft one day we could see where the rock hit the shaft as it was rotating at really low speed. Maybe hard packed snow with the weight of the vehicle pushing against it?

This is probably a dumb question that I suspect I know the answer to, but since Jeep calls these vehicles trail rated, has anyone tried to fight a warranty claim over damaged stuff while doing off-road stuff.

X2...this does not seem normal...especially for a Rubi...touted for all its heavy duty off road prowess.

Nice job on the drive shaft. You will have the best drive shaft story on the trail. I see you got rid of the funky JK yokes. If you ever have problems in the future you will be able to get any part for that drive shaft anywhere. Thanks for the photos, love that carnage.

Default that was fun

While helping a bus load of activists get there huge RV from the mud, I twisted front DS Very well. It obviously had to be removed to drive anywhere. Cheers to Chrysler for what was there 8 8mm bolts on one end? That'd be AWESOME on a trail to remove. Tip 12 sided wrenches will strip the soft heads, use 6 sided wrenches. They're prolly the more expensive ones.

I want to know what other problems I'm gonna face next? I'm thankful it was just the drive shaft and not a clutch or the transmission. It looks as if it was designed to fail at that point. Maybe the twisty shaft is designed to fail to protect other parts? It twisted two full rotations, but didn't sheer out like the photos here.

Some liberals choose not to fight when they see the word is round and we're all in this together. Love your neighbors even if they are in another country.
