This is mostly what I encounter. I religiously clean the underbody after every outing, even if I don't always immediately clean the rest of the jeep. I'll spend $5 at the self-service wash on the underside and around the wheels/brakes on the way home from an outing and then more thorough cleaning when I have time at home.

Not much you really can do to keep mud from going places it shouldn't. Don't push the clutch in when you're in deep muddy water is all i can really think of.
The old wheelin saying "slow as possible, as fast as necessary" helps a lot. Sure blasting thru mud holes can be fun, but it doesn't help clean up later. Crawl thru what you can and you'll prevent mud from flying everywhere. Hope this helps

I don't know of anything else besides washing. I forgot to add, thoroughly clean the radiator. I've had Jeep buddies that have overheated with mud caked on their radiators.
I see you're in Florida also. Here's another tip i would have never thought of. If you go through water crossings where there are pine trees, remove pine needles from around the exhaust crossover as soon as you can. If left there, they can overheat and catch fire. Ask me how I know.

Yep! I was on a Jeep ride/camping trip with a group from our Jeep club. We went out riding in the afternoon, then went back to the campground for dinner. We decided to do a night ride and as we were going back to the trails, the Jeep behind me started flashing his lights and honking his horn. I stopped and saw smoke, then flames coming from under my Jeep. After a couple of seconds of initial panic, I quickly grabbed the extinguisher and put it out without any damage, but it taught me 2 things. Clean the pine needles out, and never leave home without a fire extinguisher.
