I have no idea how these headers will react but when I installed my Ripp long tubes I did not have the tune for the Diablo Tuner. I drove it for a couple weeks without a tune. It threw a code within three hours of the initial startup with the new headers. I would be willing to bed these headers would do the same thing. After I installed Ripp tune it immediately went away.

Also if a person was to want to add "High Flow" converters you are looking at $75 - $100 a piece. For decent ones.

One other thought. If you go without adding a resonator you may not like the sound of your V6. Several people have tried the Ripp headers without the Hush Power Resonator and have ended up adding it. Keep that in mind. The drone was just to much.

Thanks for the informative post Sergeant. What combo did you get with your headers? Cats? Cats + resonator? How did your jeep run without the tune other than the cel?

I bought the entire package. Headers, Cats, Resonator, and Tuner.

I felt a slight difference without the tune. It was more noticeable after the tune. Plus the tune removed the engine light. In the two weeks I ran without the tube I was getting a lot of black build up on my tail pipe. I believe I was running really rich. The tune took care of that.

I agree with Sarge. Would not benefit without the tune. The JK uses a MAP sensor not a MAF sensor. It does not take into account increased airflow without a tune.

RIPP headers include headers, tune an programmer. A lot of money but they back it up with improved performance.

Also, had the MBRP cat back offroad exhaust with just the headers and it was really loud. That coming from someone with a 66 corvette with 2 2/12 " side pipes. I added the resonator.

They're now $400 or make offer. I'm tempted to offer $325 and put in a resonator and see how these are...

Did you install your long tubes or did you have a shop do it?

Looks nothing like ours. Check the angles. Watch out for melting spark plug boots, wires, battery tray, fuse box, harness, ect with that design.
