Default NO True 2" shocks AVAILABLE!?!?!?!

So I've been looking for some TRUE 2" Shocks for a 2-2.5" lift and have found NOTHING!

I found that all the Monotube GAS Shocks available are either 1", 3", or 4" longer in length. This includes Full Traction, Terflex, and Rubicon Express. I have not checked with Rancho, but will this afternoon. Black Diamond claims to have some, but they're Hydraulic.

I actually called Bilstein this morning and they said nothing is available for a 2" lift, but will have a specific shock available in 6 months!

I guess the best thing to do for now is run the Teraflex spacers as WayofLife does. I know others are running other shocks, but after carefully looking at the suspension with the 3" longer shocks that Full Traction sells, I really don't feel safe running them for serious off-roading. Their front is actually 3.5" longer than stock. If you look at how the front axle is stopped from over-travel in stock form, it's stopped by the shocks. If you install the 3.5" shock as some have, you will be stopping your over-travel with you sway-bar, unless you installed longer sway-bar links. I really don't want to put that kind of load on my stock sway bar links.

If you install the 3" longer shock on your rear axle, you risk your springs coming out of their pockets (spacers).

Does anyone know of any Mono-Tubes available in 2" form?

Stock Lengths are:

Front 14.5"/22"
Rear 15"/23.5"

Need:

Front 16.5" or less/24"
Rear 17" or less/ 25.5"

Both Skyjacker and Rusty's have 2" lift kit that comes with Shocks intended for 2" lift. I thought Rubicon Express 2" lift comes with Shocks for 2" also?

Check around, and ask the various shock makers what their shock lengths actually are. I found wildly different compressed and extended lengths for various shocks that were all for 3" lifts.

And just FYI, Teraflex's 3" shocks are fairly close to what you speced out:

They would droop more than you're looking for, but the compressed length is about right. By the way, you really don't want your shocks limiting your suspension travel either! If you're worried about too much down-travel, get some limiting straps. You'll ruin your shocks if you use them to limit your suspension droop.

Besides, you're going to get Inch-itis and buy a set of 3" springs eventually anyway, at least you won't need new shocks

The Teraflex rear spacers have a "cone" to prevent the spring from falling out at the top and a spring retainer on the bottom.

I'd hate to tell you guys this, but your shocks are your limiting factor with your stock suspension. Try it. Raise your Jeep off the ground, let your axle fall, then remove your shocks. The rear axle will rip your brake lines/electrical lines right off your Jeep, then hang by your emergency brake cables. Your front will hang by your sway bar. The shocks ARE the limiting factor!

I did some more investagating. Pro-Comp actually make a MX6 shock that is the perfect length for the front (24.5") and a rear to match that is only 1" longer, similar to Full Traction. I'm gonna go with them since I have a 2.5" spacer up front and only a 1.75" in the rear. I'll only be losing .75" of travel in the rear.....

The part numbers are MX6024 for the front, and MX6027 for the rear.

The shocks have been the limiting factor for the past 10 years...It shouldn't become an issue now. You just have to make sure your shocks limit the travel before your brakelines snap or your springs fall out.

Oh, I know they are I'm saying for a "serious off-roading" suspension they shouldn't be.
