Hey Big good luck with that disconnected, I don't really see the BIG improvement but its your jeep, there was a jeep on here that rolled his offroading with the rear sway bar disconnected.

ps. there has to be a reason the aftermarket hasnt made rear disco's too

I used so called "sliders" on my TJ's rear sway bar but didn't experience a great advantage at all. I wouldn't dream of disconnecting the rear SB. I also had a Curries sway bar replacement thing; it didn't give me the best performance off- or on-road. I'd have disconnects; disconnect whilst on the trail and connect whilst on the road unless you fancy getting in an out of control situation of course!

I'm sorry but this doesn't make any sense to me. A sway bar essentially works by virtue of it offering torsional resistance. This can only occur if both sides of the sway bar are connected. If one side is off, there would be no opposing force. In fact, this is essentially how the TeraFlex sway bar system works (i.e. disconnects the driver side link) as well as the Rubicon e-disco (disconnects the sway bar in the middle) which keeps the sway bar links attached but removes the ability for sway bar to offer resistance.

My 4.5" 4wd lift on my TJ has rear disconnects...

Its horrible driving without them connected, and wheeling with them disconnected does not feel very stable either...

i'm going to have to side with the "use the rear sway bar links" crowd here. my lift has new sway bar links for front and rear. since i have a rubi, i used the disconnect set on the rear and the non-disconnect set up front, since i have the e-disco up there, which i have been happy with.

i did experiment with removing the rear links, thinking that the JK might be wide enough that it wouldn't make much of a difference, but IMHO, i didn't like driving without them on, or off-road.

my JK definitely felt more stable with less body roll both on and off-road, like WOL stated, especially in off-camber climbs and even more so just with turning corners while in-town.

i'm not going to say that it was unsafe, but definitely not comfortable, which i believe can translate into safe driving. the driver who is comfortable with, and confident in their rigs handling is always safer on the streets and will go farther off-road.

You are correct. I made the mistake of assuming one side was fully secure and tight where as the other was attached but loose.

i had both front and rear sway bars removed from my tj. i did notice a great difference in body roll, but all in all i liked the way it handled. i even had way to much flex with my 4" procomp lift, stuffing 33's and droping springs, but i think that is because they were worn out. i dont forsee myself taking the sways off of my jk just disco the front and roll with that.

If you insist in driving with "Anti sway" bars disconnect. Might I suggest you invest in one of these.
Windshield decal
For $4.99 it might be a good investment.

I'll get two! One for the front and one for the rear! LOL.
