Default Nitty Gritty Question ... 3lb heavier tire vs 1" wider

Yea it's a cheesy question... But bouncing between the GY Dura in 315s and AT2 in 285/75.

Not worried about height, cause it's only .5" difference.
But one is 63lbs vs 60... But the other is just a tad skinnier by over 1".

Also, talking 99% pavement.. With wheeling in Colorado and Utah, mild trails. Need Whats best for hwy as we do you the jeep for vacation. And it's not a DD

Thoughts?

I chose lighter on the wife's Jeep last month (also 315 duratrac) Kept me under the 85 pound max for the rear tire carrier.

Good luck

On a side note... I do have a aftermarket carrier... So no worries for the rear swing gate
