Default Nitto Vs Toyo

Looking at both in the 285. Any recommendations on which to chose?

It's essentially the same tire. Get whichever you can find cheaper.

Which Nitto? The Trail Grappler and Toyo M/T are very similar. But recently the Trail grapp has been a lot more than the Toyo. If it's the Terra Grappler than I understand the price difference....

If weight of tire is a concern I would check into that.
I think the toyos are a bit heavier. Maybe not as much difference in a 285, but in 37-40's it's significant.

Then that makes sense! When most people ask Nitto vs Toyo we all assume its the mud terrains we are comparing. But the terra Grapp is an all terrain so best to comapre to the newer Toyo A/T2. I don't know much about the difference between the Terra Grappler and the Toyo A/T2 but here are some pics.

When looking at bigger pics they look pretty similar so I guess get what is cheaper unless someone else can chime in.

They are both great tires. I went with the nitto trail grappler because it is lighter and comes in a 12.5 width on a 37" tire when toyo only has a 13.5"

I'm running the nitto terra grapler 285/75/17 (34") and I love them. Very minimal road noise and that y grap off road very well. They were the cheapest option I could find in that size. Definitely going to get another set if these ever wear out.
