After reading the back and forth about these tires, I'm thinking Nitto is the way to go for me. I just never hear anything negative said about the Nittos other than maybe being a bit heavy.
I've also considered the Hankook Dynapro MT's and Yoko Geolander MT 38x13.5x17, but that may be pushing it with my AEV 4.5 lift and stock fenders(which I want to keep). 38's look perfect on the 4 doors though IMHO .

The only thing I regret about my Trail Grappler's is that I was one of those guys that started with 33's. My wife won't let me get new ones until they wear out and I have about 40K on them and they are full of life! And I am rotating 5 so they may never die...

They are heavy, but man are they durable. Great off-road and smooth and fairly quiet on-road!

Love my Nitto's!

Four Wheeler did a mud tire shootout and posted all the actual specs. The couple takeaways I had were that the Nitto is WIDE, and that the weight difference is not all that significant.

Here are the actual weights of four tires as tested (37 x 12.50 x 17)

Goodyear MT/R K: 76.2, 75.4, 75.2, 73.6

Nitto Trail Grappler: 81.6, 82.6, 80.2, 81.6

GY average: 75.1
Nitto average: 81.5

Average difference: 6.4 lbs

Maybe in the 35" category it is more significant. I was under the impression that the weight difference was more significant.

I am suprised at that average weight of the MTR's. Mine were shipped to me and all had 69 pounds stamped on them, one I think said 70. That difference in weight may very well have a lot to do with their balancing issues. The Nitto weights are much tighter than the MTR's according to that data you posted.

My MTR's balance ok, but they do take a lot of weight.

Amazon lists a 14 lb difference between the two. I wonder if DTD would grab a couple of each and weigh them for us?!!

I need to order a new set of 37s and I'm torn between the two.
