Nitto Trail Grappler MT 35x12.50x17 (weight a problem?)
Newb here....just got a 2015 JKHR. I'm going to put a 2.5" short arm lift on it. I'm also looking at Nitto Trailer Grapplers MT 35x12.50x17. I see that they weigh in at 80lbs. each and with the wheel it will be a little over 100lbs.
This seems like a lot of weight per tire for the Jeep. I know it's a durable vehicle but I worry about that much weight. I don't plan on regearing.
So I was looking for anyone running these tires and 4.10 gears....wanting some input on power loss, loss of acceleration, etc....I plan on doing some wheeling in Colorado and Moab. Also wanting to know what long term (or short term) problems I am looking at running a tire this heavy?
Actually input from anyone running any tire this heavy with 4.10 gears would be a great help.

Welcome to the forum.
2012 JK Rubicon, 3,5" MC Game changer lift, 35/12,5/17 Nitto Trail Grapplers on 17" ATX Slabs (probably 115 plus pounds wheel tire combo) and still stock 4,10 gears. Drives fine and no complains performance wise. Only problem is gas milage. If we are lucky, we get 14,5 mpg on interstate at 70 mph. 12 mpg in town.
Hope this helps.

I ran these for about 6 months with 3.21s, it'll be fine. I had zero problems with the 3.21s at sea level even pulling a small UHaul. It does suck driving at higher elevations though.

I run that exact tire on alloy rims w/ 4.10s and have no issues - wheeling is done in low range and I find 1st to be just a hair faster than it was.
In terms of daily driving:
The brakes will seem less responsive - but more than adequate, just takes getting used to.
Acceleration will seem diminished, but it's not like it was ever great.
1st gear will be much more usable, but require a little more clutch on steep hills.
6th gear will be perfect on flat ground at 55MPH+.
I find that running the tires at 26PSI is the sweet spot for my Jeep - even wear and less wandering at highway speeds.
Hope this helps.
