Nitro Sleeves

Only time I've seen that is where someone sanded inside the axle tube a little. If you have a very accurate caliper, you could measure the sleeve.

The first few inches of the tube was dirty rusted so I used some PB blaster and a wire wheel. I could even take the knurl end first and slide it all the way in and out.

Wire wheel and PB Blaster is the right way to go. Either the sleeve diameter is bad or your axle tubes are slightly too large in diameter. Accurate measuring equipment is the easy way to get an answer.

my goal is to get the sleeves in then take the axle off the jeep and have my buddy weld my C gussetes and other misc. stuff on the front axle then I am installing new Ball joints before putting the front axle back on the jeep. its just this sleeve thing is holding up the show.

Probably not what you want to hear, but if the sleeves are a no go...try the Artec Truss. You have a friend who can weld already lined up, so its a relatively cheap mod. And the truss is stout!

I can take the knurl end and slid that in so I am guessing .015 under sized, And I really don't know where the tipping point is, I would guess the tighter the better, but I bought the nitro because that was something I could do with dry ice and prep work. Is it to loose to weld, I don't know.
