This was just enough to allow me close the tailgate, but because of the toyos true size, it fit snug resting on the stock bumper (when I had one).

Had that for close to a year until I upgraded and I saw no signs of damage.

Cant remember the size of the spacer (1/8 in, 1/2 in??) so you may have to test fit a couple.
If 1/8" or 1/2" is all it takes he can probably just grab some washers from home depot and use those. A spare riding on the tailgate doesn't need a real wheel spacer, it sees no stress.

You say 1/2 or 1/8th of an inch. I'm using a factory wheel. So wouldn't I need more then that because of the lake of offset?

I've had them backordered for about a month now. Go to the write up section and look for the tubing size you need to modify your factory bump stops until you get the daystar ones. I believe it's 1.5" OD if you go inside and 1.75"ID if you go outside the factory ones. But I'm not positive

My 35 wore my top hinge in about 20K, had a rattle after that. It drove me nuts. I wouldn't hang another 35 on a stock carrier.

True...washers will meet the intent. I just happen to already have these laying around

Yes you will need more than that to make up the lack of back space. I had after market wheels with backspacing so it didn't take much.

And if that is the case, you'll be better off using the cheapie spacer vs a stack of washers.....x3.

Bottom line is that I mounted the spare out from the tailgate to be able to close it, but close enough to rest on the stock bumper.
