If your tires are hard to balance check the quality of you rims. I run the 38/14.50 17s and required very little weight.

The new MT/R runs circles around the KM/2 off road. If you want a BFG real off road tire get the Krawler blue label. If you want extreme off road get the Krawler red label. This comment may get negative responses but I own the new mtr and also own Krawler blue labels. I have also run both fordyce and the rubicon with friends on KM/2's. As soon as you hit wet rocks you'll see...

keep it coming, I'm in the same boat. I don't know how big I want to go but I know I need at least 37's so my jeep doesn't look like a rollerskate with the flat fenders. I love the width on the 38x14.5's but the weight is so close to 40s its hard not to just go for the gusto. Dammit, I wish I had this house thing buttoned up so I can get busy on this jeep. Summers months are short and fast here in the northeast. Time to get the jeep up on some major meat. I dont think I"ll have a hard time moving my 33" duratracs considering their popularity.

i would say go with the 38's as long as you have the axles and modifications to support such a large tire.

there are a few guys, I've seen the pics. there is a huge delta in price between 37s and 38's so when you apply a x5 factor to it, its approximately 1000 more for 38s vs 37s which seems to be the largest deterrent.
