For your needs, you will need a tire that is good all around.

Cooper STT
Nitto Trail Grappler
BFG KM2
Goodyear Duratracs (they kick ass all around)
Maxxis MT762 Bighorn

For aggressive tires with no regard for treadlife or noise:

Mud Grapplers (treadlife isn't bad from what I heard)
Interco SSR
Interco trXus MT

I just graduated high school last year. I know how you feel I went with bfg km2's. I went thru a super deep mud pit...literally mud up to my rockers...it's tore thru it and out the other side like a champ! I love em. The best mud tire I've ever owned. And the tread pattern looks sweet!

The Mud Grapplers are a good tire and perform well, but they are extremely loud on pavement and wear quickly.

I have run BFG's and MTR's. Both are good tires. I would not rule out the Cooper STT's I have not tried them yet. A buddy of mine has the nitto trail grappler and really likes them.
