New TF 2.5 coil lift self installed- questions seeking answers
OK- the lift was easy as long as you just followed directions. I put it on two days ago and have no noises or problems!
I do have a few questions for you guys.
1) The front shock extensions have a large washer that goes down over a ledge on the extension to be followed by your lower rubber washer for the upper part of the shock. I didi not find them with my kit until after installation so I put the factory lower washer on. It sits on the part about 3/8"- 1/2" higher with the same amount of surface to grab. WIll there be any problem here? I am going to buy new OME, Fox, or Bilsteins in a few weeks. The ride is fine. I am guessing it is just compressed 1/2" more.
2) On what I perceive to be flat ground I measured my fenders to see it level. It seems the front is maybe 1/2" taller than the rear. Yes, I did put the factory isolator back on top of the springs. Maybe it is just level now and I am used to the normal rake of the factory look.
Any thoughts on either of my questions would be much apreciated. Even your thoughts on shock selection. [ATTACH]253522

I measured the front and rear both before and after lift. The lift kit raised the front 1/2" higher than the rear which I assume levels out the factory rake.
I installed the Bilstein 5100 shocks based on what I read here on the forum. So far I'm happy with them but havn't flexed the Jeep much yet.

I believe the lift takes out some of the rake, but i find it hard to believe your back is "higher" than the front.. take a photo from the side and post it for review. Also, not quite sure what you're asking with the washer, post a pic as well and I'll answer what I can. I have the same lift but w/ TF shocks...

Maybe I am not on level ground. Here are two shots of mine from the side. the first is without the new tires and the second is on a hill sloping down to the left. one thing to note is I do not have a spare on the second. I just went outside and I have similar heights in the wells as you.. may shoot a photo of your spring/link setup and I'll take a look to make sure it matches..

You have a sharp looking Jeep. It makes sense that the flares sit lower in the rear on the body. Maybe due to entry angles etc. I think I am going to put on some shocks, side step/rails, and call it good until I wear out my 33s. Then maybe 35s. Thanks guys!
