My question is should I get hydraulic or nitrogen shocks?

That is a good question and have been asking myself the same thing. Can't wait to hear some answers. The difference in cost in some cases is alot.

The quick answer is that pretty much all shocks use hydraulic oil. Nitrogen or gas charged shocks use pressurized nitrogen to prevent the hydraulic fluid from foaming which can cause shock failure over high demand road surfaces (think desert racing) that could occur with regular hydraulic shocks.
