My wife bought me a rugged ridge 8500lb winch for christmas. I put it on last weekend but I have not used it yet. I must say it seems to be very well built. Its pretty heavy(i think 90lbs), all metal construction except the solenoid case. I will update you on the performance when I use it. I have the rugged ridge modular bumper and it dropped right in with the bumper on my Jeep. Ive never owned a winch so its all new to me but it seems pretty rugged.

Smittybuilt and Rugged Ridge winches are both produced by the same manufacture. I mounted a Rugged Ridge in the rear of my JK, only used it a couple of times and seems to work well.

Good price for a winch. Backed by a 3 year warranty seems like a easy sell. Not everyone needs a Warn that they may use just a few times a year. I will look into one myself when the time comes!!
