I came from the 60s muscle car days and I wouldn't even try to get this little V6 to sound like an 8. I haven't heard one yet that even comes close anyway. Not to hijack, but what I want to know is if anybody has put on a good performance muffler that is quiet? My Airaid is loud enough.

If you don’t like it, I think you could sell it and cut your losses. I’m sure there would be a few people on here that would buy it. I personally don’t but an exhaust to change the sound. Nor do I put card in the spoke of my bike sense I was a kid.

I think this is pretty obvious and well understood by all since the title of the thread isn't "How do I make my 3.8 V6 sound like a Hemi".

My MBRP is loud, some people like it, some don't. Make no mistake, windows / top down or up when you gas it you are not having a conversation or listening to music at a "normal" level.

Keep in mind that the actual muffler on mine is just about directly under the left rear passenger seat. Their other version that has the (larger looking?) muffler ending up way back in the stock location is probably considerably quieter I would think. That may very well might explain the disparity between the too louds and the too quiets.

Man..I'm glad you posted this. I was actually looking at ordering one soon. Guess I will just have to keep looking for a quieter one.

Do you have a soft top? I have a hard top on mine with this exhaust and it isn't loud at all. Maybe thats because I am used to driving my cummins with straight five inch exhaust! Can't hear myself think when I drive that beast

I've got it and love it. Yes it's louder than stock, but stock sounded raspy and sickly. Now it's a nice full sound. I do get the popping and burbling when engine braking, but I like that too.

Default Love mine

I have the non offroad version and really love it, its not too loud. I heard it described once as "if you don't know about vehicles you may not notice its there, but if you're dialed in to Jeeps, you know its a better sound". Its not so loud its a nuisance, but now I can tell when the remote start works.

I'd give it a couple tanks of gas to break in, check all the fittings after its been running and warm (be careful!) and see what the MBRP rep has to say.

Peace

I will give it a chance. I think I could eventually get used to the loud, but it's really the spitting and popping on decel and between gears that drives me nuts. It sounds so much like a Honda Civic with a melon-launcher.

I'll post a vid shortly. I'm sure you'll all say it sounds great

Oh, the MBRP rep pretty much said yes, they're loud.
