Default new jeep so many questions

Got an unlimted x in april, my first jeep. Love it so far. I hunt and fish and had never been on a trail ride with others till last weekend in hugry valley. It was a blast. Want to lift my jeep but I'm overloaded with info. Not rich currentyl saving for the parts. Will not do any rock crawling and will go no bigger than 33 inch tires, building for hunting, fishing and camping trips. Somtimes the roads are dry sometimes wet. I have turned back in the past in my k1500 on trails because I was probably gonna get stuck. Will be going on more trail rides.

I do want a spring lift. I see the ome 2 from northridge is popular with additional parts like control arm. Why not get something like a full traction ultimate with everything adjustable already. I have a million questions and it seems there are as many answers so I'll start with the lift question. No mods yet. Thanks for all the answers I'm about to get.

Unlimted x, D yellow
no lockers or lsd.

Go with the tera 2.5, or the OME lift from northridge 4x4. For your use, may consider the AEV lift. My advice is to really do your research, the lift that sutes you, will call your name eventually.

Question

Thanks for the replies and welcome. I thought the ome came light and heavy not medium or maybe Im not reading something right. If I get the ome I need adjutable lower front control arms and upper rear adjustable. correct plus the track bars.

No, you do not need to add the track bars, arms etc.

Contact Dave at Northridge and he is the man!
He will tell you what you need for your situation.

IF you are going to do a ton of wheeling the other parts you mention are
nice to have. Many people run it straight out of the box with no problems.

Default Teraflex

I have had two different lifts on my JK's...On the 2-dr I had the Rubicon Express 2" spacer lift with shocks and now on my 4-dr I have the Teraflex 2.5" coil lift with shocks. I also do not plan on going any bigger than the 33's I have on it now. The Teraflex kit is a complete kit with everything you need to include new rear sway bar links and a drop bracket for the rear track bar. I found that I did not have to get an adjustable track bar for the front and the shift of the axle was minimal. I have taken mine off-road numerous times and it has been great. I personally don't think you can go wrong with either the OME or the Teraflex, but the Teraflex is a more complete kit.

Here is a pic with the 2.5" Teraflex lift with 33's.

1jks rig looks great, that's about what I wan't as far as lift. It's also a daily driver, I appreciate everyone's information. Keep it coming, I have lot's to learn.
I've read so many different posts. So how is installing a tera or ome. I've done some exhaust work headers and such in the past also vehicle maintenance and can build a room on a house but i've never messed with a suspension. Dont want to screw it up.

Thanks for the reply Marcusrtj. Couple of reasons for the lift, there are some places I want to got that my truck was to big and long to go ext cab without screwing it up , I still own it 10yrs now. With the jeep I think I could get those places alot better turning radius. Also I went on my first jeep run with others last week in hugry valley and had a blast will definetly go on more and thougt a little bit of lift would be good. Also thought 33s were to wide without a lift.

I understand that things break and paint gets scratched sometimes but I can't see myself banging around on rocks like some of these guys. I guess more purpose built for what i like to. Just thought a couple of inches and 33s would be perfect for me. Of course Im running the stock 255 75 17 sra's they aren't exactly confidence giving.

The OME kits does the heavy kit have more lift than the light kit or is it just spring tension / load capacity?

I feel that you might be thinking that rock crawling is really extreme. There are different levels of it. I have the TF 2.5 coil with shock extenders and 3/4" coil spacers in front. Looking back I wished I had gone with the TF 4" kit. I'd say give it some time before you buy. You'll most likely wished you'd waited and gone bigger. Once you start to hit a few more trails with us I think you'll really get into it. We just had a newbie run a couple of months ago. I think that there's another one in San Diego sometime in November. But, if this is in fact what you want to stay with then just get the Budget Boost (BB) coil spacers. TF makes one and you'll be able to run 33's just fine with it. It'll also allow you to run 35's if you ever choose to do so. Welcome and hope to hit a couple runs with you soon
