New Jeep
Hi everyone my name is Stephan and I am new to the forum/first time Jeep owner. My wife and I bought a 2007 unlimited X two weeks ago. I would like to give my jeep a more aggressive look, as I am not sure which approach to take. The tires and rims are brand new 32" stock rubicon tires. I was thinking about getting a 3 inch suspension lift but I do not think it would look right with such small of tires. Ideally I would like to get 35's but do not have the funds right now... I was thinking about selling the tires I have now and putting them towards the 35's, but I am not sure how much I could get for them, or if its even enough to put a dent towards the 35" Nitto Mud Grapplers I want. Some one i spoke to recommended I keep the 32" and get a BB LT kit. I do not think this is going to give me the aggressive look I am going for but I am not sure. Any opinions would be helpful. Attached is a pic of the jeep...BTW I invested in Wet Okole seat covers set me back $600 they should be here tomorrow...hope its worth it

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your new Jeep!
My advice, which doesn't sound fun, is to save up so you can take care of your tires, lift (I'd go 3.5" with 35's) and new gears. I have an X, too, which I bought with 35's and the original 3.21 gears. The thing could hardly get up to highway speeds. My 6-speed is great with 4.88s, but autos are much happier with 5.13s.
I know you want it to look aggressive, but chances are you'll soon want it to be a capable off-road rig, too. I think you'll be happier in the long run if you do it right the first time.
All this coming from a guy who has absolutely NO patience.
Congrats again!

A good price on a regear is probably $900 per, so $1800 there. My Procomps run $300, so $1500 for a set of five. A lift, if you aren't going to install it yourself, will run from $2500 on up, I'd say.
You could always get the lift first, tires next, and gears last. It'll look a bit odd lifted with 32s, and it'll be a dog with 35s and 3.21 gears, but at least you'll see progress. I ran for about a month before I got gears because they were on backorder. It was livable, but I didn't leave the pavement, either.

Re-gear costs vary by area, but have generally been coming down. Expect somewhere in the $1000 to $1500 range for all parts and labor, out the door. (around $450 for gears w/ install kits, $550 for gears w/overhaul kits. The rest is labor and oil and stuff)
If you haven't browsed through the faq's, I would suggest doing it when you have some spare time. You could also look through the Show Off threads to get a better idea of what 'look' you are going for. (there are sections for various lift heights)

Welcome and congrats on the new jk, depending on your gearing you won't have to regear right away for 35's.
A nice 3" suspension kit and 35's is the perfect set up for DD use and will have that aggressive look. Take a look the premium plus kit in my sig. It'll give you exactly what you need ot run 35's.
Any questions please ask

1. Get a 3 or 3.5" lift. I went TF 3" and expect around 3.5-4" with bumpers and winch and run your stock wheels with spacers to get them a little wider.
2. Save up for some new 35s and wheels and offload your rubis on craigs or forums to offset some costs
3. Regear if you feel its necessary
I will be running 33 MTZs with the TF3" lift until they bald and then i will run 35s

While it doesn't satisfy your need for instant gratification and a BA JK...save the pennies and do it right the first time. If you really want to mod your JK try those things that make it perform better with a stock height and wheel/tire package. I would recommend putting down the $1000 to get a AEM BruteForce CAI, SuperChip Flashpaq and a new performance exhaust. That will satisfy your mod itch and will make the Jeep perform better without a serious $4-5K dent in the wallet.

If you want to do an incremental build the Jeep will look fine with a TeraFlex 2.5" coil lift and wheel spacers. Once you wear the tires out you could upgrade.
That's what I'm running now with no problems.
You also haven't said what kind of off roading you will be doing which might affect your build choices.
