New G2 Core 44 Rear Axle Housing. DO NOT BUY!!!!!
#22
So, lets see......the stock dana 44 rear is supposed to take about 4.75 pints (2.375 quarts). Is this the same fluid for the G2s?
Have you tried to put that amount in there?
If not, I would either push for a refund, or you can jack it up, put the recommended fluid level in there, and just run with it until they get the new covers worked out. I would do the former vs the latter.
Ive converted the front to a PR44 UNL. Im still running my stock D44, but when upgrade time comes, Im going to go with a PR60. Northridge 4x4 is who I HIGHLY recommend. Great deals, no tax, and free shipping on those bad boys.....
Good luck with your build.

I think a Dana 60 is just too much axle for my purposes. I twisted my stock Dana 44 on a freak accident, and I feel it was a one in a lifetime event. I didn't what the cost of replacing my locker, ring and pion, axle shafts, brakes, and the list goes on...
I though Dynatrac would make a rear ProRock 44. If not, Currie will make a RockJock 44 rear housing. The only problem is you have to wait for them to put it together. This can take a month or more. The G2 Core 44 is a good axle housing, they just need to put the correct diff cover on it. I am hoping G2 does the right thing and stops their bait and switch tactics.

To be honest, I don't know exactly how it happened. I was messing around at Holster Hills, CA and when I went to refill the air in my tires I noticed my rear long-arm at an odd angle. Somehow the housing pumpkin was twisted up. I was lucky it did not break my drive shaft. The welds connecting the pumpkin to the tubes broke and gouged a chuck out of the pumpkin as it rotated up. I did not see any major dings to my housing or rear slider, and I don't remember hitting anything hard.
Personally, I think my factory axle housing was defective, but there is no way I could prove it without a lawyer. I contacted several fab shops in the Bay Area and they all said it was not repairable. It is cheaper to buy a new housing than to hire a lawyer. So, that's my story.

Yes there is, but it is only for a leaf spring rear and only comes with a Detroit Locker. It's for the military export JKs. It would cost you several thousand dollars to fit it to a domestic JK. I would not recommend it.
