No current provision for light tabs though the suggestion for integreating into the fairlead opening isn't a bad one so were going to look into that...

Id doesn't work with the Rubi skid becuase of space issues, but will work witthout it fine, but it requires drilling 2 holes for mounting on each side of the frame. nothing complex in any way....

The more expensive one looks nice(since I have the super winch on order..lol) but it still looks like it needs some simple angled endcaps.
For that price, and endcaps that came to the end of the radiator/headlight shroud, I'd be all over it. I might even pay a little more it they offered endcaps for a small additional price.
Maybe I'll look into the price of building some endcaps for it.

Not exactly. You would need to remove the press fit stock bolts that are in the stock recovery hooks. Not over complex but you do need atleast a vice (pretty meaty one) or something that would work as one to push the stock bolts out. After that though its pretty much plug and play. It comes with 8 new bolts for the front that are easy to put in plus 2 others that mount directly to the winch mount.

It seamslike someone had a question about the cutting that was required with the Rubi Skid when I did a quick check over the weekend but I'm wondering if the question was withdrawn. I figure I would give this feadback anyway.
Heres a few pics of exactly what has to be cut in order to install the Rubi skid.
in the 1st picture you can see the swaybar undone and hanging down out of the way of my sawsall blade...
This is the hack. Now just so you know not only did I take account of this thing in an engineering way and gave it some study, I also asked actual Jeep JK engineers and designers before I hacked this thing off to make sure I wasn't going to cause myself any greef.
Basically the bottom crossmember is held on both sides by 2 small thin strips of metal. You simply just place the saws-all at the bottom edge of the rectanglular top piece that comes down, Then you cut to the side.
It took all of 60 seconds to cut both sides, with a quick pause in the middle to snap some pictures
And heres a few before and afters:

While I appreciate the "down-to-basics" approach, I am VERY dissapointed with these new bumpers. I've been waiting since February for them to come out with their new bumpers, and drooled over the pic they've had posted on their web site which looked exactly like what I needed/wanted.
I was looking for a bumper that can handle the Warn "PowerMonster" winch, and mount it down between the rails, one that utilizes the factory fog lights, and one with a light bar or at least a set of tabs for more lights.
The picture on their site looked great, but the final product is disappointing and doesn't meet my needs at all. Why the bait and switch?!
I guess I'll have to go with the overpriced AEV bumper, and hide an air compressor anywhere I can squeeze it. Are there any other manufacture's that haven't come out with a bumper, but have one in the works that I don't know about??
With the new Magnaflow muffler under the driver's side, I'm eager to mount a nice air tank where the old muffler went (perhaps a 2.5gallon). That way if I puncture it while wheeling, the blast will help boost me over the very rock I hung on. (yes, that is a joke...)
