With my upgraded 4 inch lift, it's now slinging grease from where the front ds connects with the transfer case. Do you have a manual or auto? That makes a difference.
I also tore my drive shaft boot 2 months after the installation of a 2.5 lift.
thinking of replacing it with the coast 1310

Crawl underneath and look at the joints at the tcase end of both driveshafts. You are looking for grease coming out of the little boot, and/or a ring of grease on the undercarriage above the joint. If one of those joints has lost enough grease to start making noise, you'll will want to replace that shaft.

Geez guys, that stupid spline boot that gets ripped off isn't near as important as the rzeppa joints.

Anything is possible, up to you whether you deal with it or not.

So no problems? Or there is a problem and a driveshaft is making noise?

Lots of factors involved, so you can't just put a certain mileage value to it. 2doors have short rear shafts. Add 4 inches of lift, and the angles on that shaft are fairly steep. Regardless of flexing offroad, these angles cause the little boot in the rzeppa to be in a constant state of 'pinch', which will eventually wear through it. How soon? Anyones guess. But at that height, you should plan on it happening.

I tore my boot 3 years ago after installing my 2.5 tf lift and have had no problems yet. I may be lucky.

Can you replace the front shaft with an aftermarket one without replacing the rear?
