Well lemon or not the dealer will have no choice but to once again repaint. Maybe I can get them to just buy me a new set of stainless.

Good luck with that. Once your warrantee is up you should make the investment in stainless, the hinges will outlast the Jeep.

Lol I know. Wishful thinking. Could you maybe post a pic of the back stainless? Quadratec only shows the reg stainless. Curious of what the black looks like. I'm kinda into the flat black look with my wheels and tires and other accessories.

I know what you mean, all this flat black all over. It only seems natural they'd finish it off with black hinges. Next are the hood hinges to complete the look.

Definitely with you on the hood latches. I want to fix the hood wobble at high speeds and would like something that is locking.

I was referring to the stainless black hood hinges, they're next on my list.
I don't have a problem with the bungee latches, but I was looking for the locking variety of latch, there's not really anything out there I could see. I got the other hood lock, the kind you have to reach in between the grill slats with the key. Then I installed the expanded metal grill insert that made the hood lock useless unless you cut a hole in the insert.

Ok gotcha. Yea those rusted on mine also and were repainted. Lol. I would def have to do those if the doors were done over.

I'm not really excited with any of the hood locking options out there. Not just why jeep can't keep the regular design but add a latch pop from the inside like all normal doors. I'm sure all the people on the forum who went to start their JK in the mornings and saw their battery missing would agree.

If you're not putting in a grill insert then the center key lock one would work for ya. You just have to keep it lubed so it won't rust...cheap lock you know.

I drive my Jeep all winter with very salty roads and my hinges look like the day I bought the Jeep ( other than a million stone chips from rocks ). I am diligent with the maintenance however. Wax them every couple of months, white grease between mating surfaces of the hinges and spray with rust check periodically through winter months.
