Default Needs me some shocks

so today after being bothered by a clanking noise coming from one of my axles i finally decided to do something about it. had my buddy cycle the suspension for me so i could located the problem.

turns out my rear passenger side shock worked its self off of its upper bushing. the hole for the bushing is marred to shit, the bushing is all chewed to crap and once i pulled the whole thing off i discovered the shock is blown.

Shocks were Skyjacker Nitro 8000 that came with my 2.5BB from them.

heres my problem, ive got 35s coming in about a week, i was able to get the shock back onto the bushing and it looks like it will be fine so long as i dont off road, and more than likely i will be upgrading my lift this summer around late july, so until then i need to find something to get me by.

What are my options?

could i get shocks that i would end up using with my 4inch long arm once i get the kit in july or is there some kind of big no no to doing this?

Let me know,

The key questions would be WHY the rear pass side shock was damaged in the first place.

Is it being over extended on droop?

Is it being over compressed on stuffage?

Is it being hit/hitting something as the rear articulates?

You said the shock is blown...which implies its not just a bushing issue.

You NEED to find this out, so that the NEXT shock is safe from this happening again.

i feel like the only reason the shock is blown is because i have been driving around with it not connected like this now for probably 3-4 weeks. i dont see why the top end would have freed its self from the bushing just like that.

when i put the lift on (2.5" BB) it measured out to 3.25" so could i get shocks meant for a 3-4" lift. These-----> http://northridge4x4.com/proddetail.php?prod=TF-1545200

i plan on going with the teraflex 4" long arm this summer, so could i buy the shocks for it now and be ok until then?

common problem with those shocks - i have seen it happen quite a few times with members here who've had that kit. the poly bushings allow the bar pins to move around too much and they can work free on the trail. the way you can fix it is to install bar pin eliminators but honestly, i would recommend that you get a better set of shocks like the ones you are looking at. that or a set of old man emus
