Default Need a new soft top for the 2-door

Well it's about that time. I need to replace the soft top of my 2007 2-door. Its the orginal and it leaks like crazy. I need some opinions on what material, brand, etc. There are about a million choices out there so I just want a no B.S. opinion. Tell me what you have all tried, pros/cons, etc. I want to stick with tinted windows and I'm not against trying something different like the Trektop. I do have the Safari Strap cargo net if that makes any difference. I appreciate all and any input. Thanks in advance!

Why no answers?

I'm in the same spot as you. My 2007 top is falling apart..... Sails are torn, got some holes in them, one window had the zipper fall off, just a mess.

I've looked a lot at the trektop NX. Good looking top, I love the idea of the safari style with no windows since that's how I usually drive around and what has wrecked my sails.

On the flipside, spending $360 to get a fabric replacement would almost give me enough for some other fun toy left in the bank. I'm not sure how great the quality is on the quadratec or smittybilt replacement tops though. The last thing I want is to have to replace it next year. The jeep dealer near me quoted about $700 for just the fabric replacement straight from them.

I just need to decide very soon. My 2 year old is stuck riding in the back with the wind as it's getting colder. Luckily it's not that often right now.

I did the replacement kit from the dealer with the windows. Been taking care of it and it looks great.

I had a Bestop with tinted and it lasted 3 or 4 years. Didn't feel like replacing with another fabric top so I saved up for a hardtop. Really the best way to go.

Hard top really isn't an option for me..... I literally have not had the windows on my jeep in two years. The only reason I need them is now that I've moved to a slightly cooler area and I don't want my kid to be too cold.

Thanks for the advice on the bestop though. 3-4 years wouldn't be bad to me.

Well in that case, I know Quadratec just put out a soft top for $300 (QuadraTop Replacement Soft Tops by Quadratec - Quadratec) might be worth a looksee

I have the best top trektop nx and its by far the best purchase ive made. Its quieter, and doesnt leak. Which my factory soft top was pretty much garbage.

I absolutely love my trektop nx on my 2 door. Never had a complaint with my factory soft top, but the nx to me, is just flat out better, more functional and user friendly.
