Default Need lift kit suggestions and advice

Have a new 4 door rubicon, looking at stuffing some 35's under it. Duratrac's, unless others here have better bang for the buck suggestions? I have duractracs on it now, pretty happy with them overall, but pricey! I live in Oregon, so need to be good in rain and of course off road (hence why i got duratracs to begin with)...it is and will be for some time a daily driver, so thats a consideration as well.

Stopped into a local reputable place and was quoted $1,950 for a 2.5" rock kralwer kit with fox shocks installed.

Pretty far down the road but their may eventually be 37's in the future for it (when it becomes 100% just a toy, not for a few years). If going to (max) a 4" lift would accomodate those later, i would consider it as long as it wouldnt make the 35's look silly ...

Also, place i went to mentioned exhaust/muffler work that would need to be done if i go over 3"????

Suggestions on kits? Height? Pricing i should expect etc? Im really new to this, but definetely want to do it, just want to make sure i do it "right" (no sagging later, no compromising what makes it a rubicon to begin with etc - quality is important to me).

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestons / info (and pics?!!!?)

Forgot to ask, if i can only afford to do lift, then tires later and lets say i end up going all the way to a 4" lift, would my 33" duratracs and stock rims look stupid?

I put a 4" Zone Offroad lift on my JK for $600. Installed with a friend on my driveway. More then enough room to stuff the cheap 17x35x12.5 Fierce Attitude tires.

I'm saving my pennies for an OME long travel kit from Northridge 4x4. The OME kit is supposed to have an excellent ride and net 3-3.5" lift.

I've got a 3" Rancho Trail on my 2 door with 35's and I think it looks right and climbs great. Our club leader has 37's and a 6" long arm and I think that looks right on a 4 door. He can really take advantage of the longer wheel base and not get hung up. The guys with around 3" and 35's on their JKU have to use different lines than I do or they drag on their drive shaft.

I don't think 33's would look bad at all on a 4" lift. It all depends on how big of rock you plan on getting into but with a JKU I personally would go at least 4" if 37's are ever a possibility.

The Rancho Trail kit is great and there is a $500 rebate if you get the adjustable shocks before the end of the month.

I have Trailmaster's 4.5" kit and 37s". Clears them fine with no trimming of the pinch seam. I bought their lift kit with shocks and driveshafts. It is a complete kit, everything needed, all 8 adjustable control arms, shocks, extended brakelines, driveshafts, adjustable tracbar, front swaybar disconnects. It is complete, install and dial in. It rides great, performs great and has no problem handling the extra weight of aftermarket bumpers and such. My only..."complaint" and it is more by choice, is the standard shocks are adequate but after 30K+ miles on the kit I'm going to swap out for a set of Bilstein reservoir shocks.

A number of suggestions here, thanks!

What would be a solid/quality system that would also maintain (improve?) on street performance as well, remain level even with a load etc?

I'm starting to lean towards a 3.5" or 4" lift as some I've been talking to, in forums, are saying 37"s will fit with as little as 3" lift...figure, maybe skip the 35"s and go straight to a 4" with 37"s instead?

I got my kit through Dave at Northridge. Cost about $2700 for the kit. installed in a buddy of mine's shop in one day. No cutting, direct bolt on, definately could of been done in a driveway was just easier on the lift.
I also regeared to 4.88s and beefed up my front axle while doing the regear.
