Need lift kit advise/suggestions
So I have a basically bone stock 2011 JK Sport auto tranny on 31's. It's my first ever Jeep. I'd like to lift it but I don't want to replace shafts and gears and all, with that said I'd like to stay around 2-3 inches of lift. Not really sure whether I want 33's or 35's. I would love some suggestions from experienced Jeepers on what brand of lift and type (spacer or new coil) as well as tire size and brand.

Teraflex 2.5 coil lift with 33s would look nice. If you get 35s you will lose a ton of power if you don't regear. I have a 4" teraflex with 35s and the loss in power is very significant. I'm saving up to regear as soon as I can.

You need to figure out what you are running now. Maybe 3.73 or even worse 3.21 like I was. I did 3" TF with bilstein 5100, flat fenders and fit 35's with now problem. Regear was a must and the best mod I have done. I have the 6sp as well and first is like a granny now. Great for rock crawling. To regear you need both sets of ring and pinions and then two install kits. Parts alone are about 600-800$ and labor to install I paid $800. Total job in Kansas where I lived at the time was $1550. But again best mode I have done to date. Search for gear charts but I think 4.88 are perfect for the 6sp.

I just completed a 3.25" lift from Rusty's Offroad. I'm impressed by the quality and found it easy to install. Did 90% on my own but needed some help to get the rear springs in without a spring compressor. Here are two pick for you. One of he parts so you can see what is involved and the other of the Jeep post lift so you see what it looks like. I'm running 33/12.5" tires right now on a 3.73 rear. I wheel it regularly and have never wanted any more power. Remember that the stock tire on JK sports with Alloy rims is already equivalent to a 33" so you shouldn't have any problems there.
You will see form the pics that a 3+" lift will easily accommodate a 35" tire, and I would argue even look better, but it's up to you how big you go and how much $ to spend. Good 35" tires alone are about $800-$1000+ in addition to the kit.
As for not wanting to swap out any other parts, 3.5 is as far as you can go. Once you hit 4+" you need to start thinking about swapping additional parts (driveshaft, brake lines, etc.) out.
Good luck and let us know what you do!

Welcome to the jeep world. Just about every jeep forum has a sticky at the top of the suspension page that will give you the info you need. Understanding suspension design and what a lift will actually do for you and what it wont do for you will go a long way in making the proper choices. All bolt on kits do basically the same thing, the main differences in them are the end joints they use and the completeness of the kit.
